Memorandum to all Employees
Prairie Region
Subject: Letter of Appreciation
On behalf of our Minister and myself, I would like to express our
sincere appreciation to all of you for your exemplary efforts with
respect t the ongoing wheat and barley investigations. Whether you
are a line inspector at the border, an investigator from the Winnipeg or
Calgary offices, or a manager in the field - you have good reason to be
proud of your efforts and deserve to be congratulated.
When I recently assumed responsibilities as Deputy Minister, I was
briefed on this very difficult file. I recognize that the job we
are asking you to do is not an easy one - especially since you are
administering the requirements of another government department.
However, your professionalism and dedication in the face of this very sensitive
and often contentious issue have been clearly demonstrated in the
results you have achieved. Successful prosecutions, the effective
control of unlawful exports at the border, and exceptional two-way communications
between Headquarters and regional personnel are measures of your
success.
Your efforts are greatly appreciated by the Minister and myself and
we applaud your accomplishments to date. |
